Fit For A King sticks together like a brotherhood, and that’s what keeps them pushing forward. Their music reflects the personal and shared experiences of all the members, which they blend with an ever-evolving sound—from unpredictable metalcore to catchy alternative melodies to the intensity of deathcore, all complemented by electronic elements.
Even as trends have shifted over the past decade, the quintet—comprising Ryan Kirby (vocals), Bobby Lynge (guitar), Daniel Gailey (guitar), Ryan “Tuck” O’Leary (bass), and Trey Celaya (drums)—has weathered the storms, weathered the chaos of the world around them, and emerged stronger than ever. This strength and cohesion can be heard on their eighth album, Lonely God (Solid State Records). “We all contributed to this record,” says Ryan. “We found a balance between our voices and stayed true to the honesty in the lyrics. You can feel a lot of heart behind every instrument. We’ve matured a lot, and our bond is stronger than ever.”

The roots of this cohesion date back to 2011, when the band released their independent debut, Descendants. Since then, they have continued to evolve—with albums such as Creation/Destruction (2013), Slave to Nothing (2014), Deathgrip (2016), and The Path (2020). The 2022 album The Hell We Create then propelled their name even higher: it became their fifth consecutive release to reach the Top 3 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart, and their third in a row to land in the Top 15 of the Top Album Sales Chart. Critics were full of praise—Outburn wrote that “Fit For A King has discovered a deeper side with their new album,” and KERRANG! added that “the album hits exactly where it’s supposed to.”

Over the course of their career, the band has amassed nearly half a billion streams thanks to hits like “When Everything Means Nothing,” “The Price of Agony,” and “Breaking the Mirror.” They’ve shared the stage with bands like August Burns Red, The Plot In You, The Ghost Inside, and We Came As Romans, and regularly sell out concert venues.
