Czech audiences first encountered her as the opening act for God Is An Astronaut at Prague’s MeetFactory, but this time she brings her latest album, Notan. Its title draws on the Japanese concept of balance between light and darkness – a polarity that also defines her music. Notan explores presence and absence, strength and tenderness, physicality and stillness. What began as a series of improvisations evolved into a fully orchestrated work, becoming the first part of a planned album diptych.
The musician blurs the boundaries between classical, contemporary, metal, and avant-garde music. Her concerts are intense, emotive, and visually captivating. On stage, she appears to dance with her cello – every note played with her whole being, every gesture infused with passion that turns sound into something almost visual. As At The Barrier wrote: „Entrancing.”
