He began writing poetry at thirteen, but at seventeen stepped into the world of professional hockey, coached by his father – legendary NHL goaltender Patrick Roy (Colorado Avalanche, Montreal Canadiens). In the end, music won. Jonathan released his debut album in 2009 but his true breakthrough came eight years later with Mr. Optimist Blues and the hit single Beautiful Day.
Where Jonathan’s music truly comes alive is on stage. He has a rare ability to turn a venue into a sanctuary of stories and soul. In recent years he has earned a global following through intimate live sessions that capture pure, unfiltered presence.
