This year, we’re in for a double dose of Westside Cowboy! After opening for Black Country, New Road and performing with Geese in March, they’re heading not only to Rock for People 2026, but also to their first solo show on November 7, 2026, at Bike Jesus.
Tickets on sale from April 1, 11:00, at GoOut.
All the members—Reuben Haycocks, James Bradbury, Aoife Anson O’Connell, and Paddy Murphy—studied music in college, and a discerning listener will notice that their songs are interwoven with precise technique. They refer to what they do, with a touch of hyperbole, as “Britainicana.” It’s not a specific genre, but rather a way to explain that they grew up on American alt-rock while stuck in northern England.
Folk harmonies, country phrasing, slacker guitars, and a punk spirit. Westside Cowboy blends all of this into one playful whole. They formed as recently as 2023, but just two years later they won the Glastonbury Festival’s Emerging Talent competition. This past January, they followed up that success with their second EP, So Much Country ‘Till We Get There.
“We want to make music for everyone: our parents, our grandparents, young people too. There’s no barrier to entry,” the band says about their music.
